I constantly wonder how "normal" people live, because I never seem to have enough time for everything I believe normal people do: parent, clean the house, write thank-you notes promptly, run errands efficiently, volunteer, do hobbies, socialize, etc. My mother somehow managed it all (it seemed), and worked out of the home besides. Is it magic? Did it not get passed down to me? And I wonder with my own blog about the balance between quantity and quality, too -- better to update frequently with fluffier things, or save my energy for the big ones? (It takes me forever to write a real post.) Anyway, I appreciate your writing when you have the time, and the links when you don't!Lauren Waynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07500733577920040395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000103105398415784.post-73229257297986376382009-10-14T05:44:08.221-07:002009-10-14T05:44:08.221-07:00I always wonder the same when I read the many well...I always wonder the same when I read the many well written blogs, or the blogs of talented crafty mamas. The only time I get to post a picture or two is at ridiculous am in between nightnursing new baby and awaiting the wakening of non-sleeping older child. In fact it is only because baby is sleeping and the boys are playing knock and run on their big sisters door, that I am even reading this!!
Now going to close my ears for a few more minutes and read the links.
xxBeckshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17466290600198101552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000103105398415784.post-610263699533183542009-10-14T02:20:33.621-07:002009-10-14T02:20:33.621-07:00I can really relate to what you are saying but I h...I can really relate to what you are saying but I have just recently decided to make my writing happen as much as I can and this means writing when my bub sleeps during the day. This could be anything between 30 mins to 2 hours and then again in the evening (if i am not too tired)..
Everything else just has to wait now during that time, as writing really helps me stay connected to myself. Being a mum and a woman who loves to write, I think I am now learning how to find the spaces in my day and how to use them well...global mamashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16280740132105325678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000103105398415784.post-13575834791834875252009-10-14T00:51:08.702-07:002009-10-14T00:51:08.702-07:00Yup - I wonder this too. Thank you! And your commentors are golden too!

My secret is this: I only write after my kids go to bed (and they're both asleep by 8 pm... don't hate me for that.) I'm also a massive insomniac so when I can't sleep I stay up writing. My final secret is that (and my husband is so angrily jealous of this) I write really fast. I've written entire 10-page research papers the same day they are due, and gotten perfect scores. My trick is that I write most of it in my head before I ever sit down in front of a computer, and because I have a good memory for this, I'm able to throw things together pretty quickly when I do finally have time to type.

I dunno... that's all I got. *shrug* ;)TheFeministBreederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10870473200937110378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000103105398415784.post-61828114499897440192009-10-13T14:07:06.497-07:002009-10-13T14:07:06.497-07:00no idea how they do it, but a thoughtful, well-res...no idea how they do it, but a thoughtful, well-researched, and well-written post does take more time.Betsy B. I write when he naps, or when my husband watches him. Sometimes I stay up late and miss out on sleep to do it (though I try not to make a habit of this). As for everything else, I just try to be more efficient! And when need be, I leave things undone, including my writing. I know some moms who can't spend ANY time on the computer. I think it depends on how important the writing is and how pressing other needs are.Lisa Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00110779167509779880noreply@blogger.com
