Oh I see, they babywear! It works for people the world over, and it's working great for me too. Carrying my daughter in a backpack is allowing us both to get out in the gorgeous snowy outdoors and we even help to keep each other warm. I admit that I fell on my bum a few days ago, but with her legs tucked either side of my body she was completely safe.
And just because I love snow, here's a snow picture taken in our local park:

I'm too afraid to wear my baby when it's slick out. But in thick snow, I don't think I would worry! Lot's of padding there!
The photos are nice out there! I am afraid to let my baby out in the snow even with those padded clothes. It panics me.
I once fell down some steps while babywearing Rye, he was perfectly fine, I however, had sprained my ankle - although luckily for me it was fine until I got home and then it began to swell like a balloon.
Hehehe I love the coats those Inuit mothers are wearing too, they look fab!
My theory is that when you do a risk/benefit analysis, the benefits of getting out in the open outweigh the risks of injury from falling over in the snow. So get out there!

Most of my babywearing happened in the Summer, which wasn't great for either of us. But still loved wearing her. There's no way now she'll be acrried like that. And I would definitely fall in snow! lol
I love the snow! It is beautiful! We have our own form of "snow" here....sand. It is a Florida thing. Babywearing is great in any weather!
I'm so jealous of your snow. It's 43 degrees here in Melbourne. Ack! I hates it. Yes, babywearing, flipping fantastic and of course, in the weather your having, perfect for getting out and about without getting horribly cantankerous about not being able to push a buggy through a snowdrift. Duh!
it amazes me how mother instinct takes over when you fall with a little one. I remember heading towards a ferry to Iona on a slick dock with DS on my front in a FCC in a wrap and I fell forward, but landed on my back, miraculously saving him any harm at all. In fact, he thought it was all quite funny.
Do you also not find particularly in the cold weather that you look at other tiny babes in pushchairs and thing "goodness" I just want to babywear that poor wee mite (well, I do that with any baby any time of year to be honest, but maybe slightly more so in the cold)?
slugs - yes I do. Before I "discovered" babywearing I didn't think twice about little babies being pushed in prams, but nowadays I just wish their mums would pick them up and cuddle them instead of leaving them in their little boxes on wheels. Heck, I'd cuddle them myself if I wouldn't be arrested for it. I think a lot of us are too distant from our little ones.

Definitely feel what Slugs describes about other people's babies in pushchairs - always think they look slightly dejected, which I'm sure is probably my perception of it, but still! ;)
Oh, that is just beyond lovely! I fell once wearing my son in the Ergo Baby once, too, with similar results. He only laughed with excitement! But, boy, did my ass hurt a lot more than it would have normally!! That extra 32 lbs makes a big difference!
