Clearing My Throat.. Ahem.. It's Been a While

It's been a while. So what's going on? Well, I've been:
  • Going on holiday

  • Starting breastfeeding counselling training

  • Reading tons of books on breastfeeding

Cave Baby is now two and she's starting to go to sleep without boobie! I thought it would never happen but suddenly, out of the blue, she sometimes prefers to unlatch, turn over and be shushed to sleep. Unbelievable, I know. It even makes me believe that one day she will self-wean. And that is hard to comprehend. She has even been sleeping through the night occasionally, though that hasn't happened for a few weeks since the latest molars started to make themselves known.

So what else? I've starting taking vitex agnus castus to stimulate my body to ovulate. I'm six weeks in and I finally have egg-white cervical mucous, so it might be working. It's time to admit now that I would really like to have another baby.

Oh, and I'm still sworn off shampoo. A bicarb wash every four days is quite sufficient at the moment. It makes me woder why I spent all that money on shampoo in the past.

So another summer has gone and the wheel of the year turns again. I'll try to catch up with some of the blogs I used to frequent, though breastfeeding counselling training comes first.

Happy autumn.

How lovely to see you back again. I have missed your thoughtprovoking posts.

Hello, and yes, lovely to see you back again.

I'd just like to mention, in the keep-at-it-it's-worth-it stakes, that my small girl now sleeps much more reliably - most nights, roughly 7.30 until 6-something - and we avoided all the CIO stuff full stop. It can and does work, long term, though it seems to take a little longer than lots of people are happy to wait... and we weren't always 'happy'! ;)

Also, good for you on the wanting-to-have-another-baby bit - could you pass me some of that, please? I would like to in theory, but am having trouble translating that into action (as it were).

So nice to see you back! I took it pretty easy this summer too. I didn't read and comment on other blogs as much as normal and I mostly only posted easy-to-write kinds of blog posts. I've been reading breastfeeding books too. For review. But it is taking me much longer than I thought it would, and I am feeling enormously guilty about it. :(

Yes indeed, how good to see you back.

I have been thinking of sending this toothpaste link for a while, based on the shampoo thing!

good luck with the baby-making!

Hey, it's still summer...technically.

So, I'd wondered where you'd gone. Happy that all is well.

I'm still in no hurry to have another baby, but we're starting to sort of plan for trying next summer. Seems so far away now...

Posts like this give me such hope ~ I'm still feeding my 17 mnth old to sleep, and I'm fine with that, but sometimes I worry that she'll never learn to/want to go to sleep on her own. It is heartening to hear that kids do eventually go to sleep on their own (and without the evils of CC/CIO!)
