One of the Joys of Co-Sleeping....

...is being woken by your baby daughter with a huge wet raspberry blown right in your face.

This morning I was woken by her fidgeting at 7am but I pretended to be asleep in the hope that she might drop off for another hour. She kicked and rolled for a few minutes before turning to her daddy and staring at his peacefully sleeping face for a while. Feeling a little put out that her penetrative stare alone had not been enough to wake him, she decided to issue the aforementioned raspberry, packing in as much volume and spit as she could manage. He woke with a huge grin on his face.

Happy, tiring days.

One morning this January Rowan jumped out of bed immediately after opening his eyes and said, "Mama, you stay here. Close your eyes." So I played along and....unintentionally fell back to sleep! I awoke with a start to find my little man coverd in poop standing in the empty bathtub! I gasped and he calmly told me, "It's okay mama, I have everything under control. I'm washing it off." At which point it dawned on him he really didn't have anything under control and he started to cry. Oh, that was a lovely morning. Beware sleepy mamas....keep one eye open at all times!

How sweet! We never got raspberries, per se, but we did get sweet little kicks! Co-sleeping is definitely a joy no matter how much spit and kicks we get!

I love your story Amanda. What fun we are going to have when she learns to get out of bed herself...

Aaah bless her...did co-sleeping at the beginning with the first but found I got no sleep at all - now if they ever come in to bed with us it's the beginning of the end - faces are poked, eyes are prised open, kisses are given. All very cute, but not if you want some sleep!!

oh gosh this is so sweet. We only co-sleep when Boy is ill, I almost look forward to it :-) as he's so fiercely independent usually. can't wait to co-sleep with number 2 from the word go...

Ohhh I woke this morning to find my 6month old rolled on his front, just staring at me. I got THE biggest smile from him when I opened my eye. What a way to start the day!
